Swatch of lip gloss in Poppy Red
Swatch of the creme cheek and lip colour (top) and the gloss.
I picked up this PIXI lip twin from TKMAXX in Nottingham a couple of weeks ago for just £3.99, it usually costs £12, and I was thrilled when I saw it because it's something I've wanted to try from the range after winning some PIXI products in a giveaway.
I was also sent a magazine showing all the products and prices which was really nice of the blogger.
You can see my review and pictures of the PIXI Glow Tinkerbell collection here link.
Unfortunately, as with a lot TKMAXX purchases, sometimes people have had a little look a the product and the cheek creme end did have a tiny bit of damage but I don't think it ruined it too much.
The gloss was sealed so I felt happier about that. On the same day though, I picked up a Stila bundle and someone has totally ruined a product in the set and it made me feel sick so I had to take it back.
What PIXI say about the succulent lip twin:
Exquisite duo of lip balm and lip and cheek crème for a burst of fresh colour and long-lasting nourishment.
What it is formulated to do:
Give yourself a lip-loving treat with this duo lip nourisher. The natural oils and extracts condition and protect your lips - all while adding a quick tint of face-awakening colour with our unique lip and cheek crème (conveniently located in cap). In the tube: Multi-purpose lip balm to soothe and heal dry lips. In the cap: Solid lip and cheek crème for when you need a quick pick-me-up of concentrated colour.
I think this is an excellent product as it's a good size and the pigmentation is just enough in each of the products.
The lipgloss is not sticky but has an unusual taste/scent, it's not horrible just a bit of an odd one that I can't put my finger on.
I also needed to shake it up a bit after it had been hanging around in transit in the shop.
Would I say it's worth £12? I'd struggle to pay that for it, although, I struggle to want to pay that for anything. Now I've tried it and seen how good it is, I would say it's a quality product worth getting.
Some lucky ladies will have got one included in the Latest In Beauty monthly box so that's a really good deal for them.
I didn't get that box because I either had some of the products already or wasn't interested in the others.
Originally, LIB had included a Carmex lip balm and I don't think it was as exciting as the PIXI and as soon as they included the lip duo, the box sold out I believe.
So overall, I would say it's a good size and will last ages and ages! It's not something I've been reaching for everyday because I have such a huge amount of lip products but it's lovely for warmer weather or popping a bit of colour on after work before the pub.
What do you think about PIXI? Have you tried this? What other products should I try from PIXI?
